Chicago – Nearly 300 printing and marketing professionals attended Dscoop Days in São Paulo, Brazil on July 14-15. Dscoop’s first event in Latin America was an unqualified success.
“The great interest of Latin Americans in Dscoop wasn’t a surprise for us, given increasing participation in the North America annual event and continuous requests to have Dscoop events in the region,” said Fernando Alperowitch, Hewlett Packard Business Director, Indigo and Ink Jet Web Presses, Latin America. “But the event recently held in Sao Paulo exceeded anyone’s expectations – a great combination of international speakers with local success cases, plus great opportunities for networking – the event closed with excellent feedback from participants and sponsors”
Felipe Cotrino,Category Manager - HP Indigo Latin America agreed. “We have wanted to do a Dscoop event in Latin America for many years, and Dscoop Days was everything we hoped it would be: top speakers, logistics, agenda and great networking. Everything was very well executed. All of the attendees that I spoke to were really pleased and found it very useful for their business.”
All presentations were conducted by customers and market experts; there were no vendor or technology selling seminars.Attendees had the opportunity to engage with thought leaders to identify what matters most in the year to come, including interactive sessions by international speakers well known for their contributions at other Dscoop events, including: Gary Peeling, Ed Wiegand, Jay Dollries, Rick Bellamy, and Rafi Albo.
“We cross timelines, change hemispheres and speak many different languages, but here in São Paulo two things were universal: the passion for football and excitement for what Dscoop can do for our members’ businesses. In Latin America there are huge growth opportunities in digital printing clearly on the horizon,” said Gary Peeling, Managing Director, Precision Printing Co Ltd. (London, U.K.), Dscoop Board Member. “While EMEA might have taken the cup, the Latin American region will remain one of the most exciting places to do business now and in the future.”
“Latin America is such an exciting and diverse part of the worldwide digital marketplace,” said Chris Petro, Dscoop Global Chairman. “Dscoop has been an industry leader in education and business growth for HP Graphic Arts users for nearly ten years and we see world-wide connections being made every day through our Print Directory. Printers as well as marketers, brands and agencies are having great success finding partners and resources in other regions. Expanding membership and partnerships into Latin America only makes sense and really grows our reach and community exponentially. This expansion will continue to position Dscoop members in Latin America and around the world for even greater success.”
